The Anthracite OUYA is a retail, non-limited OUYA- it is the first publicly available revision OUYA to not be limited edition, unlike it's predecessors the White Christmas 16GB OUYA, Matte Black 16GB OUYA, and the Blue Sky OUYA.
The Anthracite OUYA is identical to the original, but has wireless, hardware aesthetic, and controller improvements. Perhaps the most notable being the updates done to the Anthracite Controller. It has 8GB storage, as the original does. This seems to be what separates it from the limited edition OUYAs. Currently, all limited edition OUYAs have 16GB storage, and all of the retail OUYAs have 8GB storage.

This OUYA revision was released in mid-2014, following the discontinuation of the limited edition Matte Black 16GB OUYA. It was released at the same price of the original OUYA console.
As of late August the Anthracite OUYA is no longer displayed on the OUYA.tv website. However, the Anthracite OUYA is still available on Amazon.com for the original price, $99.

Features[]

The features of the Anthracite OUYA are identical to that of the original.

The OUYA features the Discover Store for applications and games designed specifically for the platform. The hardware design of the OUYA allows for easy opening, allowing easy access to modding and possible hardware addons, justifying the name "open and hackable" of which Julie Uhrman has called it.

Any OUYA console can be used as a devkit, and games/apps can be created on Windows, Mac, and GNU/Linux-based operating systems. All games are required to have some element of a free-to-play aspect, whether that involved being a completely free game, free trial, or purchasable upgrades, levels, or items.
